Friendly Toys Little Playzone

The Friendly Toys Little Playzone is a bit different then the other play pens that I have talked about lately. Even though this pen can be used for a number of different things, it’s specifically designed to be a play area for your little one.

Upon first glance you will immediately notice a few differences between this play pen and the others I have reviewed. The first thing that you will notice is the color! This pen is made up of several different colors which make it seem a bit more childish. Since the whole idea of this pen is to give you’re a child a place to play, this just makes sense, right?

You will also probably notice that the materials used to make this play pen are very different. The other pens all used either some type of metal or extremely heavy plastic. These were built to be pleasing to the adults’ eyes as well as protect your little one. The materials in the Friendly Toys Little Playzone are thicker, more “blocky”, and overall designed to be used around little children.

Don’t think that this means the materials are low in quality. Even though it may not look it, this pen was actually designed to function both indoors and outdoors. You probably don’t want to leave it outside all of the time, but if something happens and it ends up in the middle of some bad weather, it’s no big deal.  Because it can be used in both locations, this is a great pen if you want to save money and only purchase one pen instead of multiple pens.

One more quick note is that the surfaces are very easy to clean and are non-toxic.

Another thing that makes this play pen nice is that you can quickly change it into different configurations. In other words you can place it in an L shape on the corner of a wall to maximize the space or you can place it in the middle of the room and form a square or circle. This flexibility is nice if you don’t want to leave it in a permanent setup or if you are taking the pen somewhere besides it’s normal location. A good example is during the holidays you can take the pen to Grandma and Grandpa’s house and quickly set it up there.

The play area is fairly small at 13 square feet. Note that even though this is somewhat small, it is plenty big enough for your little one. There are several pictures of the play zone on Amazon.com that have a small child playing so you can get an idea for how big it is.

As you might expect, this play pen comes with a safety lock on the door to get in and out. Small children will not be able to unlock it without your help.
